Currywurst-style sausages with potatoes and goat cheese crumbs

A surprisingly delicious dish: sausages with sweet and sour sauce with potatoes and goat cheese crumbs. It is a very tasty varied dish, with many nuances of flavors.

On the one hand we have some fresh sausages from the butcher shop that we will make grilled and that we will accompany them with a tomato sauce with a bittersweet touch. We are also going to put some cooked potatoes in the basket to which we will put a drizzle of olive oil and some crumbs of goat cheese. A show of flavor and color!

It is also a very easy and quick dish to make. We will start with the sweet and sour sauce, which will be ready in 15 minutes or so. And then, while we have the potatoes in the basket (which will be ready in 20 minutes), we cook the sausages in the pan. We plate it up, a touch of fresh parsley on top to decorate and the dish is ready! For dinner as a single dish it is great.

Ingredients

  • 8 butcher sausages
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 thick slices of goat cheese
  • olive oil
  • fresh parsley (optional)
  • 50 g onion
  • 25 butter g
  • 10 g of sugar
  • 25 g honey
  • a pinch of cumin powder
  • 250 g canned crushed tomato
  • 125 g ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (perrins type)

Preparation

  1. We put the onion in the glass and chop 5 seconds, speed 5. We lower the remains to the blades and add the butter and sugar and fry 2 minutes, temperature 120º, speed 1.

  2. We put the cumin, the crushed tomato, the honey, the ketchup and the Worcestershire sauce. We program 10 minutes, temperature 100º, turn to the left, speed 3.5.  We remove to a bowl and reserve.

  3. We rinse the glass and fill it with 1 liter of water with a little salt. We put the basket and the potatoes in quarters inside.

  4. We program 25 minutes, varoma temperature, speed 2. 

  5. While we make the potatoes in the basket, we are cooking the sausages in a pan or grill.

  6. To plate we place the sausages, with a little sauce. And on the other side you cook potatoes, goat cheese crumbled with your hands and a drizzle of oil. Optionally we can add a little chopped parsley to decorate.
