Simple red cabbage garnish

We are going to prepare a very simple garnish with a vegetable that is now in full season: the red cabbage.

I like this accompaniment its color, the simplicity of its preparation and also that characteristic flavor that we will obtain when adding vinegar and brown sugar.

Also try it cold, as one more ingredient of your sandwiches.

A colorful red cabbage garnish and ideal to accompany meat and fish. We can also use it to make the tastiest sandwiches.

Ingredients

• 100 g onion cut into thin strips
• 40 g of extra virgin olive oil
• 600 g red cabbage, cut into thin strips
• 1 hoja de laurel
• 30g white wine vinegar
• 1 teaspoon and a half of salt
• 1 teaspoon of brown sugar

Preparation

1. We put the onion and olive oil in the glass. We program 3 minutes, 120º, speed 1.

2. Add the red cabbage, bay leaf, vinegar, salt and sugar. We program 25 minutes, 120º, left turn, speed 1.

3. We serve immediately or reserve it to serve cold.

Notes

We can also substitute red cabbage for cabbage.
