Spicy edamame snack

Today I bring you one fantastic idea for the weekend. It is a spicy snack edamame, very easy to make and the most fun to eat.

Edamame is the name of a culinary preparation in which immature soybean pods are boiled in salted water. They are served, like this, whole with pods and everything. And it is a appetizer or snack very common in Asian countries like Japan and China.

The best of all is that they eat like pipes. You just have to gently open the pod with your teeth and enjoy the tender soy beans that are inside.

What else should you know about this recipe?

The only trick this spicy edamame snack has is the Boiling point. So make sure the water is at 100º before you start counting the 3 minutes of cooking.

You can customize the spicy point, so if you are one of the brave you can take a risk and add a little more shichimi but be careful you know which is powerful.

If you want to give a touch more spanish, forget about sesame oil and shichimi. Substitute for olive oil and a chopped cayenne.

Edamame is easy to find In supermarkets, look for it in the frozen veggie section.

Shichimi is common to find in Asian food stores or in internet.

If it serves as a reference in 200 grams of pods there are only approximately 90 grams of soybeans.

Also this recipe is vegan and does not contain gluten, lactose, or egg.
