Nougat cake

This nougat cake has authentic Christmas flavor. Already when it is being done, it leaves a delicious smell throughout the kitchen that makes you want to eat it by the spoonful.

At home we really like nougat but in the end, with so many excesses, the days go by and we don't even try it. So I have decided that this year I am not going to buy typical products to consume them as is, because in the end we get tired of them or we don't even open them. What I'm going to do is buy them but as the main ingredient for other recipes.

There are many ways to take advantage of the tablets that we have left, we can prepare biscuits, custards or semi-cold. Although there are also surprising recipes like this rice pudding and marzipan that it knows that it feeds.

hello sea, and happy new year….
I use the one to mount, as a rule for desserts the one to mount, in salty the other… unless it is specified.
      A kiss…

I made it this noon and it's in the fridge waiting for tonight 🙂 I don't know how to decorate it, because I don't have liquid chocolate ..
    Hopefully it's tasty.

HELLO Cali, because you can decorate it with chocolate shavings, if you don't have it, you can scratch chocolate, chop almendars and pour them on top, with whipped cream, with colored shavings… .. you will tell me….

I have one almost the same stuffed in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. The base is the only thing that I have changed. I have made it with "granola" cookies (the ones with a chocolate face). I am going to decorate it with caramelized almonds, chocolate shavings and some heart-shaped cookies. I'll tell you how it turned out. Thanks for the recipes and happy new year 2012.

I did it yesterday, in case I did not have time for it to cool down enough, I did it in small individual glasses, type "flat", and it is very cute. Exit! Thanks!

I made it to try it on January 6 and it was a success at the family meal. Since then I wanted to repeat and I could not find soft nougat. But, I already bought… ..I make another one today. Great …… .. Thank you very much.

Hello, I'm glad you liked it, and besides being a success, how easy and fast it is… hahaha.
How lucky, I can't find soft nougat anywhere, I don't know what happened this year. I was going to do some storage, to make more cakes and nougat ice cream for the summer, since they have an expiration date until the end of the year ... and can you imagine this fresh cake in an evening with friends in summer ... .. surprise ... . but no sign of the nougat ...

Hello Virtues, I would like to know what diameter of mold you have used. if I make it 25 or 26 cm. is it the same amount or increase? And another thing, do you think I could end it by burning brown sugar on top or will I spoil the cream? thanks and regards

    1.    ascenjimenez said

      Hello M.Luisa,
I answer you because Virtues stopped collaborating on this blog a few months ago. In a 25 cm mold I think it will fit you well, you will not need to increase quantities. With brown sugar burned with the blowtorch, I think it will be spectacular. Tell us how it looks and, above all, if you liked it, okay?
      A kiss!

Hi! I would like to know if the milk can be semi-skimmed.
It is the one we drink at home

Thank you, I love everything you post

    Merry Christmas!

      Hello Pilar:

It will be just as good with semi milk but make sure that the cream is not cooked. Use the one to mount because it has more fat and you will have a more homogeneous texture.

      Merry Christmas!!
