If I wanted it on a diet, would it be possible to make it with saccharin ???, I live in Valencia surrounded by orange trees, it smells of orange blossom ...

    1.    Elena said

Hi Chusi. As you already know, I love Valencia. How lucky to live there! I have less to go.
Yes, you can add saccharin. The proportion is usually 10 gr. of liquid saccharin for every 100 sugar. If you do it, tell me how it turns out. All the best.

      Can you freeze the jam?

      1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

        Hello Ana:
Yes, you can freeze it without problems.
As far as possible, try not to use metal covers so as not to prevent them from being expended.

        Regards!

  2.   Julia said

I put the oranges and the lemon with the skin, the white part and the seeds, if they have, included. The bitterness they say is not noticeable, you also don't have the work to peel. It is very good.
    Thanks for the recipes.

  3.   Rita said

Hello Thermomix colleagues, I want to tell you something about jams, it happened to me this summer. I prepared a fig jam, 300gr. of sugar, 500gr. of peeled figs and a peeled lemon, it came out magnificent but 15 or 20 days after having it in the refrigerator it got moldy. Do you know how they can be kept longer? Thanks

    1.    Silvia said

Rita, that unpleasant surprise also happened to me at the beginning when I opened a jar of homemade jam. Then I began to close them by making the vacuum and they last a long time without that happening. Look in the index for the apricot jam that Elena explains very well how to make them empty.

      1.    pillar perez said

that is not "empty." This is a lifelong preserve, lasts 1 year or more. "Vacuum" is like this: the jam jars are well filled, they are turned upside down until they are cold. (several hours). I make the jam like this and it lasts for several months. salu2.

        1.    Elena said

Thank you very much for the clarification, Pilar !. I always do vacuum packaging. All the best.

  4.   ellen said

Hello everyone! First of all, thank you, because I have already made 3 of your recipes and for the first time they have been a success!
Then I have several questions about the jam, the first when you say 500 grams of oranges are already peeled or unpeeled? It seems silly but .. I don't want to make a mistake in the proportions .. Another one, is that I suppose you add the carrot with the rest of the ingredients at the beginning right? And the other is what size do you buy the glass jars for the jam? Is there any better than others? For example, does the cover have to be of some kind? Thank you and Merry Christmas!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elena, at the beginning of the recipe we explained that it has to be peeled and reserve the skin of one of the oranges. The carrot is added at the same time as the rest of the ingredients, at the beginning. Follow the steps and you will see how delicious it comes out. I use screw-top mason jars that I buy at CASA. Thank you very much for seeing us and Happy Holidays!

  5.   ellen said

Hello, I would like to know if I use half of the ingredients so that less amount of jam comes out ... do I have to use the same times and speeds? Thank you very much.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elena, yes you have to put the same speed but in the time I would put 5 minutes less. All the best.

  6.   ellen said

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding vacuum packaging; I have read that you have to wait 60 days to consume the product and I have understood that once we package it as indicated in the apricot jam recipe You can start using it from the next day. As you can see, I have become addicted to you. Thank you very much.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elena, the truth is that if we vacuum pack it it is because it will take time to consume it, if we are going to eat it the next day it is not necessary to do so. I'm glad you like our recipes and thank you very much for watching us. All the best.

I love your blog, I am also crazy about Thermomix, and when I discovered you I was excited, I think I will have days to make so many recipes, hahaha !!!.
Well, I wanted to leave you a comment related to preserving jams, if you don't want to do it in a bain-marie, it can be done in another way, which is: once I bring the jam in question in a glass jar, and with the help of a spray ( little one, in the whole they sell them for 100) it is made on top of brandy and the same in the lid of the jar, it closes well and turns upside down, the next day you turn them over, and that's it, preserved, this system makes the same function as the bain-marie, hard and hard. (You already knew it, but just in case there is the information), a hug

    1.    Silvia said

Thank you very much Yolanda. I had heard about turning it upside down, but the brandy is new to me.
Thank you for your contribution and greetings.

From Madrid, living in Valencia, they have given me a box full of oranges, which we personally went to pick up, and of course, I have tried the recipe for jam, along with carrot ,,,,,, exquisite… ..now that I have a few days off, I have even labeled and decorated the jars, after boiling them (for a gift they are great), after coming with the Albufera bike I am going to try wholemeal bread. Always grateful for having discovered a new hobby, a greeting x 2.

    1.    Elena said

Hi Virginia, I'm glad you liked it. My husband's grandfather brought us a box of oranges the other day and yesterday. I just made a couple of big boats. I hope you like bread. All the best.

I'm glad Mar !. I will try it because I love hornazo. Kisses.

  10.   Carmen said

Hello girls I have made the orange marmalade with reduced amounts and I put less time, it was a good thickness but when it cooled in the pot it has become super compact, you know why? It is very good flavor, thank you!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Carmen, I do not know how much you have added but if it is thick it is that you have put too long. Greetings and I'm glad you liked it.

      1.    Carmen said

Well look I put about 300 grams of orange instead of 500 and if I remember correctly 22 min., For the next one I will put less time, thank you very much !!! 🙂

        1.    Elena said

Hi Carmen, next time, for that amount, I think 16-17 minutes is enough. All the best.

  11.   Carmen said

Hello, I don't know if you could answer a question. My mother is diabetic and I would like to surprise her with a bitter orange marmalade without sugar, but they say that nothing good comes out, besides not being compact. Do you have a recipe?
    Thank you very much.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Carmen, I have not tried to make them because they told me that they are not very tasty. I give you a recipe that I have in case you want to try it: 500 gr. strawberries or apricots, 40-50 drops of sweetener. You pour the fruit into the glass with the sweetener and blend it for 15 seconds, at progressive speed 5-7-10. Programs 15 min., Temp. varoma and vel. 4, without beaker and putting the basket on top. If there is much liquid left, put another 5 min. at the same temp. and vel.
      A greeting.

  12.   Toñi said

Hello Elena and Silvia, I am new to jams and reading the orange one I wonder what I should do with the carrot; I suppose to put it with the rest of the ingredients? By the way, can lemon be substituted for agar-agar or do they have different functions? Thanks a lot.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Toñi, the carrot is added with the rest. Lemon has a different function than agar-agar. The lemon prevents the fruit from rusting and the agar-agar is just a thickener like gelatin. All the best.

I greatly appreciate what you publish, since here in Santiago de Chile there are not many Thermomix and recipes that we can go to.

Hi there! He had not written to you for a long time! But here I remain unconditional to your recipes! Every week I make about 3 or 4 of your recipes and they come out great! logical because with your explanations everything is phenomenal! Today I have a doubt, I have made all your jams but tomorrow I am going to encourage one of these (probably orange) and how we are in full bikini operation hehe I would like to make it using sweetener.
Today I bought in the mercadona the only one that I saw is aspartame powdered sweetener, do you think it can help me? If so, how much do I add? Thank you very much for being there and for answering all our questions!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Rocío, yes you can use sweetener, but I don't know the amount. In the box or jar of sweetener usually comes the equivalence with sugar. Greetings and I am very happy that you like our blog.

hello everyone. I'm trying to find the recipe for the bitter orange marmalade. Could someone facilitate it? Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

Rocio, I haven't done it but I think that if you don't just remove the white skin from the oranges and add the peel of an orange, it will turn out bitter.

It is true that it is delicious, could you tell me how to make the bitter orange one?

    Thank you

    1.    Silvia said

Jorge, the truth is that I have not prepared it bitter, but I suppose that if you add part of the skin of an orange and do not remove too much the white skin, it will be more bitter.

  21.   dew said

In the end I made the jam with the skin of the oranges and the lemon and it did turn out bitter. Also, I added 300 grams of sugar instead of 500 because I don't like them very sweet, but I think I have run out of sugar.
    I'll keep trying

  22.   girl said

jo. I have made this jam 2 times, and it does not end up sweet. I do everything the same as you, but I don't know why a little taste makes me bitter. ho! What's up?!

hello everyone! I have seen your recipe for orange marmalade and you have given me a great idea. By the way, if someone wants top quality oranges, tell them that I am from Valencia and that we have fields at home. You have been very helpful and greetings to everyone.

      Hello Amparo,

the truth is that jam is a good solution when we find a good amount of fruits or vegetables. I hope you tell us your results!

      Hello Amparo Navarro:
I wanted to ask you how did the orange marmalade come out?
And also how to get in touch with you for that offer of oranges, I would like to know where you are in Valencia.
      Thank you.

I'm going to try it right now. Well, I have oranges that my husband's grandmother has given me, homegrown and to enjoy the homemade. Some time ago they gave me peaches and I made peach jam, and it came out very good. As I ran out, and I didn't have much time, I had to buy strawberry jam (before it was the one I had). One morning, my 6-year-old girl asks me for a toast (we love them) and I had to make it from bought jam, she tried it and she didn't like it at all, she didn't eat it and I felt terrible. So, I'm going to get down to business. Congratulations, this blog for me is like a formula for doctors. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hello, first of all thank you for putting these recipes, because they are wonderful, the other day I made this recipe and it was to die for, thank you. I wanted to know if I can make it with grapefruit and how, just like the peach and with the same ingredients. You will tell me and thank you very much, you are great.

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello María Pilar, in principle you can change the fruit you want and put the same weight in sugar. Adding the carrot is optional, the same as the lemon (although I personally like the touch that a splash of lemon gives it). You will already tell us how your grapefruit jam comes out!

  26.   Johanna said

Hello, you just made it with liquid sweetener. It has been very good, a little more expensive but fantastic and less quantity. I have replaced the sugar with 50g of sweetener. A greeting.
