Squid with potatoes

Thermomix Recipe Squid with potatoes

This plate is from the book It costs less with Thermomix® and whenever I see the photo I tell myself the same thing: this one has to be tried! but it's one of those stews that I always leave for another day ... but today has finally played !!

It comes out great, tender, rich and with its delicious sauce. It reminds me a bit of the recipe for squids with onions although this is accompanied by stewed potatoes.

My family have loved it. I have split squid for my daughters very small pieces and they've had a great time, even dipping a little bread in their sauce.

The same thing happens to me, I always see it and say this one has to be done but the time is not coming.
Doesn't it happen to you that it is one of the most useful books for day to day?

  2.   carmen said

Ola, the same thing happens to my mother, I tell her that we had to do it and she does it at the same time, but when she cooks I can't complain.

  3.   jose antonio said

    great blog.
This recipe has been to suck my fingers.
as it did not have sweet paprika, I put an Señora in its place and added a little spicy paprika (I like spicy)

  4.   Julia said

It can also be done with cuttlefish. It takes 30 minutes to cook, or a little longer, depending on the thickness and freshness of the cuttlefish. Best regards.

    1.    Silvia said

Thanks Julia, next time I will follow your idea, which we will surely love because we like cuttlefish very much.
      All the best

  5.   Marilo said

Hi, I'm new and I just discovered the blog.
The recipes are magnificent, but we have the old thermo that we make without turning to the left. I dare not do any or is it that it cannot be done?

    1.    Silvia said

Mariló you can do it by putting the butterfly on the blades and speed 1.

  6.   Javi. said

    A doubt.
When we put the butterfly then it says nothing to remove it. It must be on throughout the recipe ???? Or it is removed at some point.

    A greeting.

    1.    Silvia said

Javi, the butterfly is not removed until the end of the stew to prevent the blades from undoing the potatoes and getting the squid tangled.

I am precipitating, I only have a week, but the truth is I am delighted and it seems to me that your recipes are great girls, congratulations for this page,

    1.    Elena said

Thank you very much, Belén. I hope you like our recipes and that you use the Th a lot. Greetings and thank you very much for seeing us.

  8.   mari light said

if you turn to the left, spoon speed is necessary to put the butterfly.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Mari Luz, there are recipes in which it is necessary if the ingredients can be easily broken. You don't always have to put it on, but in some cases you do.

    2.    Silvia said

Mari luz, if you have the TM-31 the butterfly is not necessary, but if you have the TM-21 you must put the butterfly and speed1.

The squid with potatoes I have not tried yet, but the potatoes stewed with marinated pork rib are for dipping bread, also a single dish, a greeting to all and those who do not have the thermomix I encourage you to buy it if you can. I have it since August and I have not let it rest, Juli

Hello Silvia and Elena !! and friend of this blog. Tell you that 3 days ago I discovered this site since I have a thermomix for several years, but with depression (I did not use it at all) and thanks to you I am more excited now than when I bought it. We loved the recipe but in my T21 machine, I don't have the spoon speed with a left turn, which is the equivalent in the old model? Thank you and keep it up. CONGRATULATIONS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone !!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Gema, when we say spoon speed and left turn, you have to put the butterfly on the blades and speed 1.
I am very happy that you use the Thermomix and that you like our blog.
Thank you very much for following us and Merry Christmas!

Hello Silvia, I have made this recipe as is and it was very good, now I am thinking of substituting squid for cuttlefish, and sprinkle with hot paprika, here in huelva cuttlefish are much more frequent, although there are also squid. Do you know the cuttlefish with beans »beybe»? Typical dish of Huelva, it's very good, well, I like the "fried" cuttlefish better, but well, it's a matter of taste. Ya t con tare, greetings.

  20.   Manuela Ruiz-Henestrosa Rivera said

Hello again, where could I write a recipe for potatoes with choco in the style of my land of Cadiz? I would like to share with you some recipes so that you can enjoy them as my family does, please tell me where I have to put them, thank you and a greetings.

Well, I don't know what happened to me because I had super fluids. I have done it with poplars instead of squid and they were tender, just like the potatoes, which have not undone anything. But very very liquid the sauce. I put the butterfly and the cup upside down on top, could this be the fault? What a shame ... with the good taste that has come out ...

  22.   xisca maria said

I would like to make stuffed squid, but I can't find the recipe, could you help me thank you very much and happy new year

    A delight I was great !!

    1.    Irene Arcas said

How good Maite! Thank you very much for your comment 😉

  26.   Ana said

Well I made the recipe for the second time and it is a total disaster, the potato completely falls apart.

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Ana:

I'm sorry the recipe didn't come out right.

Sometimes the trick is to try another type of potato. You already know that not all of them are the same and they do not all serve the same purpose.

It also depends a bit on how you cut the potatoes. The bigger they take the longer to get done.

Surely the third time is the charm !!
