Steamed wild asparagus

´Recipe thermomix Steamed asparagus

This steamed wild asparagus recipe is so simple that you can almost do it with your eyes closed. So… get the varoma out of the closet and give it a spin !!

Every day I'm getting more taste for steamed vegetables. They feel great, they are super healthy and they taste spectacular.

You can also take advantage of tiered cooking while in the glass you prepare any other recipe as a ketchup, basmati rice or ratatouille.

This has been my meal today, I have taken advantage of the varoma and I have put a hake loin, very good and healthy.
    Thank you for the recipe.

Patricia, Thank you for watching us. The truth is that it is great to be able to do several things at the same time with the varoma and the glass.
I also usually take advantage of it and while I make a ratatouille, or any vegetable downstairs, I prepare a little fish upstairs and everything looks great.

    Hello:
I have only known your website for a very short time, but what little I have seen seems incredible to me. I feel unable to use the thermomix without looking at a recipe. Thank you very much for the amount of recipes that you make available to those of us who are less "skilled".
I wanted to ask you if you can use frozen wild asparagus; And if yes, should they be defrosted beforehand or simply put more time?
    A greeting.

    1.    Silvia said

Good question Isabel, because I have never bought them frozen. I always make the recipe with natural asparagus and it comes out great. But I would test if you have them frozen, although I don't really know what option to tell you. I think I would defrost them a bit and then play with the cooking time, put them on for 12 or 15 minutes and try to see if they are okay or need more time. As it is a simple recipe, you will surely catch your breath right away and they will come out perfect. If you dare, tell me how was the result.
      All the best

They look very good, does the salt have to cover both the top and the bottom? Are they not very salty afterwards? Thanks for all these great recipes!

  7.   Silvia said

The coarse salt is a little sprinkled on top. They are not covered, otherwise they would come out very salty as you say.
    All the best

Hello! I really liked the idea of this recipe, as it is in the photo, since we took full advantage of the machine. But I have a question: if we make the tomato sauce in the glass, how do we cook the eggs? When I have cooked them in the thermomix, it has been in the basket while I prepare a Russian salad. Do you put them in the Varoma container? Thanks for sharing your recipes.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Sonia, you can do it both ways, in the basket or in the varoma. Greetings and thank you very much for seeing us.

Helena, I made the asparagus yesterday while I was steaming the potatoes. The spectacular, delicious result.
I was wondering if you have any ideas to save the recipes that I like the most, both from the web and from the magazine ...
    Thank you

How rich are the asparagus. Until now I used to put them in the pan with a little oil, but steamed they are great. I have prepared them as you indicate with the ham slice joining a bunch of 3 or 4 asparagus and while I have prepared the tomato sauce that is going great. I take note of the recipe that we repeat. Greetings

I love asparagus and this way they drive me crazy. You also have to try the light asparagus cream, it is very good.

  11.   Carmen said

Hello Silvia and Elena! As always, thanks for your wonderful recipes. A doubt. If we are going to make the asparagus with ham. We roll in bunches of three with the slice and put them in the Varoma with the coarse salt to cook or first we cook the asparagus and when they are done we make the bunches with the Serrano ham? Thank you very much and forgive being so heavy

    1.    Silvia said

Carmen, make the bundles with the ham and cook them like this. This dish comes out very rich.

  12.   carmen said

Thank you very much Silvia !!! By the way the other day I made the light cream of asparagus. The only thing is that it was a little hebrosy (skin of the asparagus) I solved it by passing it through the strainer. I think that the asparagus were not "ideal" something hard ... does it happen to you too? Thanks again

I love steamed vegetables, would it be the same as asparagus? All the best

    1.    Virtues said

HELLO Nuria, it would be a matter of trying, maybe some vegetables, you have to give them more time. I cook potatoes divided in half, varoma temperature, about 30 min, and it goes well….

  14.   MONTSE said

I have a doubt with this recipe, the 800 of water when you have to use it is that it does not put it.

  15.   Silvia said

Montse, the water is to be put in the thermomix glass to cook the asparagus. Thanks for your observation I have already changed it.

    All the best
