Integral tangerine sponge cake

To make this wholemeal sponge cake it is best to use mandarins from organic farming because we are going to put them in the glass very clean but with the skin. Hence its intense flavor.

We will use whole wheat flour and, if we have, whole cane sugar. And prepare the nuts because they are also an essential ingredient in the recipe.

The one in the photo is baked in a round mold, 22 centimeters in diameter. It is not too high so, if you want it to be higher, you can use a smaller diameter mold increasing the baking time.

If you like mandarins you have to try this jam, one of my favorites. Spread over today's sponge cake it has to be a real delight.

Ains, I don't have that pot and I don't know how it works ... But if you've made other cakes in it, you can do the test and see what happens.
      I'm sorry I can't help you, Manci… 🙁
      A kiss!

I have changed the walnuts for almonds because I am allergic. We all loved it. This I repeat for sure.

Good morning Ascen I think this one at home is going to like a lot
But I want to make sure it's not bitter is it?
Greetings and thanks for your magnificent blog

      Hello M Carmen,
No, not bitter if the tangerine has a thin skin. If not, what you can do is:
      - first grate the orange part of the tangerine (which is the one you will use)
      - then peel it, cut it in half, remove the seeds and put it in the glass.
The result will be the same. I hope you like it as much as we do 🙂
      A hug!
