Basic recipe: Corn Flakes for batter

batter-corn-flakes

Batter with corn flakes. A real discovery: the battered they are golden, crisp and tastier. The truth is that I had tried it with the hake balls, but it was the other day when, at 7 in the morning, I was going to prepare my children's tupperware for summer school. Pretended to do breaded breast, And with the breast ready (which I had defrosted overnight in the fridge bathed in milk) and the egg already beaten, I go for the pot of breadcrumbs and… it's not there. No breadcrumbs! It is 7 in the morning and, although with thermomix grating bread It's a pee, I can't make that much noise this early. Oh oh what do I do? I remembered the hake balls and had cornflakes, so I crushed them at speed 5 and… voila. Very little noise and the result was a success, so much so that it seems to me that it will be our new bread crumbs for a time. I also have to try baking instead of frying because I think it will be great with corn flakes, and that little fat that we save.

Corn flakes are corn flakes, unsweetened. They are the breakfast cereals of a lifetime. It is an alternative for Celiac, but be careful, look gluten-free corn flakes, which not all are. You can use this corn flake batter with meat, fish, vegetables, croquettes ... with everything you would normally use breadcrumbs and following the same technique that you would do with it. In the case of the breasts, they are salted, dipped in beaten egg, then passed through the corn flakes and fried in oil.

It seems like a great idea to me, that children have to like a lot, and also not so children, hahahaha. One question: Do you defrost the chicken in milk to make it even softer? or for what?

Hello Ana! Yes, it is a trick of my mother. You take it out of the freezer, cover it with milk and into the fridge. It does not have some flavor but it is very very soft and juicy inside and out, crunchy with the corn flakes. You'll see how good it is. A kiss!

Hello, are the Corn Flakes that you use the normal ones for breakfast? I have looked at the ingredients in the box and they do contain sugar. I don't think they sell them without sugar.

Hello Cristina. I mean that they are not sugary, that is, coated in sugar. Added sugar usually carry almost all commercial brands, but there are also sugar-free ones, in organic supermarkets or health food stores you can find them. In any case, it is enough that they do not have a layer of sugar on top, with grains of sugar that are visible. The corn flakes of traditional kellogs, for example, would serve you well. A hug!
