Leeks And Shrimp Cake

Leeks And Shrimp Cake

Now that we are back to the routine we need quick and easy recipes, like this one Leeks And Shrimp Cake, so as not to spend hours in the kitchen and have time for other tasks.

It is clear that with the cold it is best to accompany it with a good Butter But don't forget to prepare it in summer and serve it with a salad. You will have one very rich and complete dinner.

To prepare this recipe you can use frozen peeled prawns but you will have to be careful to defrost and drain them as much as possible so that they do not carry a lot of water.

In this recipe I have used a silicone mold but you can use a traditional small round mold. You just have to spread it well with butter so that it comes out of the mold easily.

I hope you like it!

Can you use normal milk for evaporated milk ?? thanks

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hola!
Mix the normal milk with a tablespoon of yogurt or fresh cheese to give it a little body.
You may have to cook for a few minutes.
      Kisses!!

If I do it for four do I have to double times?
    Thank you

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hello Elena,

fold, fold ... not the same but prolong it for at least 20 minutes for sure.
It will also depend on how the mold is. If it is long, plum-cake type, it will be cooked earlier than if it is a large flanera type.
Another important factor is the oven, so do not get lost too much (especially the first time) to be able to control the times.
      Kisses

When do you put the parsley? Thanks

      Hi Arnest,

I put the parsley at the end to give it a touch of color.
      Kisses!

Can it be done in the microwave? How long?
    Thank you

      Hello Silvia:

I always do it in the oven but I have a friend who does it in the microwave and says she puts it on half power for 5 minutes and then 2 or 3 minutes at full power.

I hope you tell us the result ... let's see if I dare to use the microwave a little more because I have it almost as an ornament.

      Regards!

Good evening, I made this recipe today and I think it needs a lot of clarification, as it is written it does not come out ... The leek and prawns, if we do it as indicated in the recipe, they remain whole, since speeds 1 and 2 do not crush at all . I have crushed everything at 5-6 for about 15 seconds, before putting the mixture in the mold (when it was already all hot). On the other hand, the amounts indicated result in a tiny cake, like a flan at most. I have gone to put it in a plumcake mold and although I have added more egg and milk to increase it, it has been very small. In the end, it tasted like a French omelette.

      Hello Aseoanez:

The cake is designed so that, although it has the appearance of flan, it has the textures of leek and prawns. What I recommend is to cut the leeks into more or less thin slices, so later you just have to mix the ingredients.

On the other hand, as indicated, the recipe is for 2 people and the mold to be used is 500 cc. If you use a larger mold or you are more at home you will have to double the quantities.

      Regards!
