Zebra cake

I really liked this cake so nice that remains. The different layers are perfectly visible and the little ones are amazed.

It is a simple cake, half normal and half with cocoa. We can use the recipe of the cake that we like the most, such as the Genoese, yogurt, born, etc. We only have to separate half of the dough and we will add a few tablespoons of cocoa powder to one of those halves.

The result is a colorful cake and also very rich. Perfect for breakfasts for the whole family.

I wanted to ask, that at the end of the recipe it says: grease the mold with butter and in each bowl we put a tablespoon so they do not mix, a tablespoon of what? And then we add two tablespoons of one mixture and two of the other, you use a soup or dessert spoon. Thanks

Hello María José, in each bowl we put the cake mixes: one with cocoa and the other without cocoa, with a spoon in each one to pour it into the mold without mixing the doughs. I use a soup spoon. All the best.

What brand of cocoa do you use ???

    1.    Elena said

Hello Mercedes, I do not have a fixed brand. I really like the one from the Valor brand. All the best.

Good Elena, I like it as much as the cola cao and my little ones don't even tell you, instead of cocoa powder I used cola cao and followed the advice of Alicia (canecositas) with the oven, I only put heat down for the first 8 minutes of baking it and then heat up and down until the end and it was very flat.
Thank you, you are fantastic, keep it up.

hello, it is the first time that I dare to write to you, by the way I love your blog! On Saturday I made the cake for my father's saint since he loves all kinds of sweets and I used a bear mold taking advantage of the fact that my niece was there, the taste was very good but for my taste a little dry, and that I put it less oven time, do you know why it would be? Greetings and keep doing so well, thank you

    1.    Elena said

Hi Veronica, it's for the oven. Each oven is different and yours will surely require even less time. When they are dry it is because they have passed the cooking time. Greetings and I am very happy that you like our blog.

    Hello!
I just did it and the flavor is great, but when I tried to mix the layers as you say, they were too thick and did not fall to make the zebra drawing. Because it can be? Anyway, it was delicious!

    1.    Elena said

Hi Laura, help yourself with another spoon to add the dough. Greetings and I'm glad you liked it. All the best.
