Mona Easter

Thermomix Mona de Pascua Desserts Recipe

The Easter monkey is a typical sweet of the Aragonese, Catalan, Valencian regions and even some areas of Murcia. It symbolizes that Lent and your abstinences are over.

Traditionally it was the godfather who gave it to his godson on Easter Sunday and it is customary to take it during snacks on Easter days. I still remember when my grandparents always gave me chocolate eggs.

Here in Madrid our custom was to eat together and have a delicious dessert or snack French toast.

This has been my first monkey. I have prepared it after your requests on the web and the Facebook group. I've had a great time making it and especially decorating it. I think that in the next few years I will get a taste for it and I will encourage myself to improve them. What do you think!

    Hey.
    It looks very beautiful.
Although I have to say that the monas in Valencia are not like that. the custom here is pastries with eggs.

You are right, I meant with my comment that the Mona de Pascua is a typical sweet of those regions but each area is elaborated in a different way. This I think is more from the area of Catalonia.

It is simple to make, a delicious sponge cake filled with jam and covered with yolk cream. Although the cake has burned a lot, but when tasting it is great.

  5.   Sandra Iglesias said

Hello, what does it look like? I want to ask you with the thermomix 21 it's the same and another question, the yolk on top burned them like Catalan cream, thanks ……………

    1.    Silvia said

With the Tm-21, you can also prepare it like this. The yolk cream has occurred to me to burn it as you say but it does not need to be done. Do it as you like the most.

HELLO!! WHAT PAINTS HAVEEEEE…. I'LL MAKE IT FOR SUNDAY…. BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE ALMOND MEAL. WHERE DO YOU SELL IT? IS IT ESSENTIAL ?? 'THANK YOU GIRLS !!

    1.    Silvia said

Angela, you just have to pulverize almonds at progressive speed 5-10 and when they are as powder you already have it. It's the same if you ask for the chickpea flour recipe.

      1.    angelabredu said

thanks girls !! but the almonds are the laminated ones, or the raw almonds ???? Thanks again . And when the flour is from chickpeas, what chickpeas are used?

        1.    Silvia said

The almonds in the decoration are laminated, those in the flour are raw and the chickpea can be of any type.

Hello Silvia, it looks very good, we in VALENCIA where I am from, we call them cute or panquemado, they are buns, which I make in the thermomix, and delicious mesalen. Here is the recipe, and you will measure if you liked 3 eggs, the yolks only, 105 gr. inverted sugar, 45gr. of sugar, 8 deacarine tablets, 170gr. of milk, 100gr. of olive oil of 0,4 degrees, 50 grs. baker's yeast, 600 gr. of strength flour. I heat the milk for 2 minutes 50º speed 1 and I put the saccharin, then I put the two kinds of sugar, speed 4, 10 seconds and then the yolks, the yeast, the oil, we put speed 4 10 seconds, then half the flour and a pinch of salt, 30 seconds veil. 5 and we finish putting the flour 6 minutes, closed glass speed spike, cover and wait for it to rise, I make 240 gr balls. I separate them, I can put 5 on the baking tray, which are the ones that come out, when they triple in volume I raise the whites to the point of snow next to the balls and put a little bit on top we put sugar and bake at 150º, 40 minutes , SILVIA tries to make them are very good, you will measure, kisses
