First of all I wanted to apologize for the photo. I had no intention of posting this recipe, but in the end, I thought you might like it. It is made with a mobile ... not with the camera, so sorry for the quality of the image ... Anyway, my baby It has already been 1 year and I was very excited to prepare a special cake for him, that he could eat it without food risks, but that it also seemed delicious to adults ... a good challenge, right?

Well, I have to tell you what challenge I achieved? It has been a success! So I couldn't stop sharing it with you, because I know that many blog followers have babies and that you surely like them. The best thing is that you can adapt it to the tastes of your baby and, above all, to what he has indicated in pediatrician what to eat or not.

In my case, we had to wait until the year to introduce the egg white, but we had verified that the yolk did not give him an allergy. So I prepared a Genoese sponge cake without clear. I have filled it with a yogurt-based cream like “my first Danone” and Strawberry jam. But you can use, for example, some flavored iogolino or normal yogurt, if your baby already takes them.

Ingredients

For the cake:

  • Yolks 5
  • 120 g of sugar
  • 120 g of water + 4 scoops of type 2 follow-on milk (or whatever your baby uses)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 120 g flour
  • 1/4 of envelope of Royal type yeast

For the filling:

  • 3 yogurts for babies
  • 6 teaspoons strawberry jam
  • 100 g of orange juice (or apple)

Preparation

  1. We preheat the oven to 180 °.

  2. We put the butterfly in the glass and add the yolks (taking care that no rest of the shell falls off. I first pour it into a bowl and from there to the glass, so if some shell falls I can easily remove it) with the sugar we program 6 minutes, temperature 37º and speed 4.

  3. Now out of time we program again 6 minutes, temperature 37º and speed 4.

  4. Then we add the water with the powdered milk and mix 1 minute, temperature 37 °.

  5. Finally we incorporate the flour and yeast and mix 30 seconds, speed 2.

  6. We prepare a container for the oven of about 35cm x 22cm approx. And we put baking paper on the base. We add the sponge cake and spread it well.

  7. We bake for 15-20 minutes at 180 °. If we see that it begins to brown on the surface but it is not there yet, we cover it with silver foil and lower the temperature to 160 °.

  8. Let cool and remove the paper. We cut the cake into three pieces (so we will have a 3-tier rectangular cake).

  9. In a bowl we mix the yogurt with the jam carefully. Do not beat it much because it would be too liquid.

  10. We wet each sheet of sponge cake with the chosen juice (so it will be juicy). Fill the first base with the yogurt mixture and place the next layer on top. Thus we will fill two bases. We put the last layer on top.

  11. If the yogurt has dripped a little bit ("my first danone" type yogurts are usually very liquid "we take advantage of it to cover the walls). We leave the last layer empty, but if you want you can cover it with more mixture. We put a candle on top and… ”Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu's birthday…
