Baked macaroni with chili beans gratin

What a delicious thing !!!!!! The short pasta with a creamy sauce and then baked in the oven with a good Parmesan or Manchego cheese… it is something from another world. What are we going to prepare today? Some delicious macaroni with chili beans or chili con carne gratin in the oven. Well yes, you read correctly: chili con carne.

Do you know the recipe? It is a typical dish of the Tex-Mex food from the South of the USA, which above all you will have seen crowning the nachos mountains or filling tacos. In the blog we already made the recipe a while ago, so I leave it here so that you always have at hand: chili con carne in thermomix.

If you do not want to prepare it at home or you do not have time, in any supermarket they sell cans with chili con carne already prepared in the international food section that you can also use for this recipe.

We used macaroni because we love how the sauce is inside the macaroni, for my taste they are super juicy. But you can use any short pasta such as fusili, farfalle ...

You will see that when you take it out of the glass and put it in the oven, it will seem that there is too much liquid. Don't worry because the macaroni will finish cooking in the oven and will dry out a little. And then, when we remove them from the oven, we will let them rest for a few minutes and there they will also absorb more broth. So we will have super juicy macaroni when we go to eat them.

Of course you can freeze them or prepare more quantity so that it remains and take it another day.

Delicious macaroni with chili beans or chili con carne gratin in the oven.

Ingredients

• 80 g of Parmesan cheese or semi-cured Manchego cheese in pieces
• 20 butter g
• 20 g olive oil
• 100 g onion
• 1 garlic clove
• 800 g of Chili
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 350g milk
• 700 g of water
• 350g macaroni

Preparation

1. We put the cheese in the glass and grate it 10 seconds, speed 10. Remove to a bowl and reserve.

2. We put the butter, oil, onion and garlic in the glass. We chop 3 seconds, speed 5 and we fry 6 minutes, 120 ° C, speed 1.

3. We add the milk and water and heat 10 minutes, temperature 90º, speed 2.

4. We add the macaroni and program the 11 minutes, 100 ° C, left turn, speed 1. 

5. Now add the chili con carne and program 5 minutes, 100 ° C, left turn, speed 1. 

6. We preheat the oven grill to 200º.

7. We put the macaroni in a baking dish. You will see that they have been very liquid (later that broth will be consumed in the oven and with the rest).

   Sprinkle the grated cheese that we had reserved on top and grill for about 10 minutes or until it is golden brown at 200º.

8. Remove from the oven, let it rest for 3 minutes and serve.
