Carrot and cauliflower flans

carrot-and-cauliflower-flansthermorecetas

The fact that children eat vegetables, sometimes, it can be complicated so today we are going to camouflage them by preparing some carrot and cauliflower puddings.

Its presentation is more fun and attractive than simple cooked vegetables and we are also giving them milk and eggs without them knowing.

To curdle the puddings I have opted for the VAROMA, you can take advantage of any prolonged cooking. Thus we save ourselves from turning on the oven and we will have 2 dishes prepared in the same time.

Carrot and cauliflower puddings go perfectly with homemade tomato sauce or with salad. In this way we will have a healthy dinner for our little ones.

Thanks for such an appetizing recipe. One question, can the recipe be "lightened" by substituting milk for cream?

    1.    Mayra Fernandez Joglar said

      Hi Lucia:

I've never tried it but I imagine I have because traditional puddings don't have it. Obviously you will not get the same result and they still take longer to set.

      Regards!

I am a disaster in the kitchen and I always doubt: what kind of cream is used in this case?
    Graciasss

      Hello Laura:

You can use both, although if you want to lighten the calories, use the cooking one that has less fat.

      Regards!!

Hi Mayra, I'm going to try it because it seems very original to me. Could you substitute the cream for evaporated milk? Or milk and cream for 200 gr. of evaporated milk?

    Thank you.

      Hello:
I would try to substitute 200 g of evaporated milk for milk and cream. I think you are not going to have any problems.
      Regards!

Thanks Mayra, another question, if you don't have flan dishes, what other containers could serve as flan dishes to use in the varoma? I do not know if the clay containers used in rice pudding desserts would be valid, for example, or it would not be done well.
