Chicken with potatoes in a roasting bag

Chicken with potatoes in a roasting bag

Have you ever considered the electricity that we can save using the Thermomix to grill meat instead of the oven? And if we add to that how cheap chicken recipes come out (chicken breast with peppers, thighs with herbs…) Well here you have a recipe for chicken with potatoes in a roasting bag to put it into practice.

I have used chicken, because I love it and it is very cheap, but of course you can also make it with the meat that you like the most.

It is a recipe that takes time, but we will hardly have to do anything, our Thermomix will do it, which will steam the chicken. In turn, the roasting bag will slowly cook the chicken in its own juice, so there will be nothing dry left. We can add the ingredients that we like the most, especially when it comes to spices and herbs. Finally, we will only have to put it in the oven to gratin so that it takes that golden brown so characteristic of roasts. But it will only be 10 minutes, compared to the hour that the whole roast can take ... I think it's worth it, right?

In addition, the best thing about this recipe is that we can leave it prepared in advance once it has been cooked in the roasting bag. Just leave it for the last moment to grill it. And in the same way we can freeze it. When it has finished cooking in the varoma we will let it cool down and freeze it. When we want, we take it out until it thaws and we gratin it.

Very interesting girl I have always made it in the oven, but I have to try it. Thanks for your recipes, for me it is a vice to look at it every day.

Thank you Encarni! You'll see how rich it is, and what the electricity bill will thank you for. You will tell me if you like it. Kisses!

Another question, it can be made with chicken pecuga or boneless thigh.
And I keep asking the vegetables it gets the same time as the potatoes thanks

Hello Encarni, if you make with boneless chicken breast or thigh, remember that you must reduce the cooking time, since they are much smaller pieces. You would put the vegetables at the same time as the potatoes. You'll tell me how!! The idea is to put all the bag and forget. It is a very practical and comfortable recipe.

Also at the end you have to put the oven ... I still prefer this one to roast the chicken, and I think that time is not enough, it will finish when you put it to brown 🙁

GOOD EVENING. I LOVE THIS RECIPE. IT'S GOING TO FALL FIXED. A QUESTION. WHEN YOU PASSED IT TO THE OVEN YOU HAVE NOT SAID HOW MANY DEGREES 180º OR 220º OR LESS

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Clara, I put it at 200º, but it would be fine at 180º and 220º. The time will depend. In other words, if you take it out of the fridge, it will take longer than if you put it directly from the varoma, which will be very hot. You will tell me!

Does anyone know if we put the other tray of the varoma with + chicken if it would be done? It is that I need more quantity when I make chicken. Thanks

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Toñy, you can put up to a whole chicken. You just have to be careful that it closes the varoma cover well, so it should not be excessively large. You will tell us!

Ok, I made one more breast in the other tray, of course, the chicken prepared the breast making it thinner (with its bone) I put more potatoes and a tetabrick on top of the variable lid. They were perfect.Thank you

Hi! Do we put the potatoes in the VAroma container together with the bag or in the Varoma tray on top of the bag? Thank you very much!

    1.    Irene Arcas said

Hello Beatriz, we put the potatoes INSIDE the roasting bag, with the chicken. You will see how easy and how delicious!

great !!! The truth is that it is worth it, and anyway you have to put it in another container to serve, I put the same source on the table and we serve ourselves.

Well, doing it to the letter, everything came out rather crude, I think it has at least 30 minutes left. more cooking

  11.   Esther said

It has also come out raw for me. I have put it 40 more minutes as it says in the recipe for garlic chicken and when I punctured it, blood came out again. In the end I had to put it in the pressure cooker

How long does it have to be in the oven?
The thermomix has come out raw for me, and the potatoes don't even tell you.
I have it in the oven to see if it finishes being made.
