Cold hake cake without oven

Cold hake cake without an oven is one of my summer recipes favorites. It has many good things like that it does not give any work, it is fast and it is always a triumph in the kitchen.

I still do not understand how this type of recipes can like so much but the truth is that it does not matter if I use it second course or as a snack. The fact is that it always surprises and I always end up distributing the recipe among one of the guests.

In time, I have gone adapting the original recipe to the tastes and needs of a small family like mine. So we can enjoy a cold fish cake but without having the leftovers rolling around in the fridge for days.

A very simple cake to make and that you can use as an aperitif or as a second course.

Ingredients

• 300 g of cooked hake, without bones or skins.
• 2 eggs
• 80 g of evaporated milk or cream for cooking
• 30 g surimi
• 20 g tomato sauce or ketchup
• Salt and pepper

Preparation

1. We put the cooked hake without bones in the glass. Add the rest of the ingredients and season to taste. We mix during 30 seconds, speed 6 to crush all the ingredients. We lower the mixture towards the blades.

2. Next we program 10 minutes, 90º, speed 3 1/2.

3. While we prepare a mold of 500 cc capacity. If it is made of plastic, metal or glass, we grease it lightly and cover it with transparent film. If it is silicone we will not have to do anything.

4. After the time, we pour the mixture into the mold. We settle it by lifting the mold delicately and letting it fall gently. Smooth the surface and let it cool in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Although it is better to leave it overnight or from morning to night.

5. At the moment of serving, we unmold it and garnish it with the washed, dried and chopped chives.

6. We serve toast bread accompanied by mayonnaise, pink sauce or tartar.

Notes

It is very important that the hake does not have bones or skins.[br]It is essential to accompany it with mayonnaise or tartar sauce to enhance its flavor.

To do it I like to use hake but it will be just as good if you use monkfish, sole or even cod.

This cake is ideal for take advantage of the fish that you have left over from another recipe. The goal of good housekeeping is to give leftovers a second life and not throw anything away in order to save.

If you do not have cooked fish you can easily cook it with Thermomix. You just have to put it in the varoma and program 18 minutes, varoma temperature and speed 1. You can take advantage of the glass to prepare other recipes such as soups and creams. Although you can also do it by putting only 500 g of water in the glass.
