of course there are tricks to peel chestnuts !! You can follow Mertxe's although I have a very similar one.
Make sure the chestnuts don't have pinholes because that means they have (or had) an intrisu. Bring water to a boil until it comes to a boil. While making a deep cut to the chestnuts and when the water is already boiling, turn off the heat and put the chestnuts for about 3 minutes. You can do perfectly in the microwave.
Try, you will see that when you peel them, the peel and the inner skin will go away in a jiffy !!
