Macaroni with broccoli and ham

This recipe has been a bit of an invention, according to the ingredients that I have found in my fridge. I also wanted something light, so for people who are doing diet, this recipe is fantastic.

I liked it a lot because it is very juicy and it's a good way to eat some vegetables. And, of course, if you are not on a diet you can adapt it to your tastes, for example changing the York ham for bacon and adding butter to the béchamel.

Hello Marisa, how nice to have been so right with the broccoli! Surely your daughter likes it ... also with the touch of ham and béchamel ... so creamy ... a delight!

Hello, I imagine that, when in the step that the macaroni are made and the temperature that is set is 100º, the broccoli will already be at its point, since I think I understand that in the varoma container it is always set with the varoma temperature, and with 100º it would not be correct. I would appreciate it if you clarify, well I don't know if I have explained myself well ... I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your blog ...

Hello Angie, in this case I have followed the instructions in the book Essential for cooking pasta. For this recipe it is perfect, since we are not interested in the broccoli being completely done. Rather, we want it to be al dente since it will then go to the oven and finish cooking. But of course, everything is a matter of taste. If in your case you like it more pasadito, when you remove the pasta, you can leave the broccoli at varoma temperature for a few more minutes until it is to your liking. Thank you for following us!!

Thank you very much for your recipes! I have done this today and we liked it a lot. Delicious Thanks. We have gotten a good source of macaroni (we are two adults and a girl). A doubt, to eat the rest tomorrow (gives again for the three of us) take it out of the fridge and put it in the oven to heat it directly? The bechamel gives it a very good touch. I didn't know how much nutmeg to add, but I think I was right in the end.
I congratulate you on your recipes and your work. Thanks again.
    Regards,

Hello Javi! Thank you very much for your comment. I'm really glad you liked them. I always do more, although there are only two of us at home, but we usually take our tupperware to work. So, with what you have left over, you have two options: heat it in the microwave or in the oven. For both options I would add a splash of milk, since the béchamel will have thickened enough and they will not be as juicy as the first time. Once you have heated them, stir them well so that the milk integrates well with the pasta. In this way, the milk will improve the texture of the béchamel. You will tell me!!

Today I have made them to eat and they are very good!… With some variations: since I did not have macaroni I have put colored spirals on them, instead of 400 gr of pasta, I have put almost 300 because there are two of us to eat, and béchamel I have done half of what you indicate ...
My husband tells me to make the broccoli sprigs smaller next time because he doesn't like it very much (well, but I've managed to get him to eat some vegetables ...). However, my almost 11-year-old son who does not eat at home, "loved it", he did not even want it to be heated for dinner ... and there is still a little left that he wants me to reserve for tomorrow ... My child does Who knows!!
    Thanks and congratulations…!!

But hey Angie, what a success. How glad I am, really. And, if you cut the smaller bouquets, your son will still like them the same and your husband will like them more, so you already have the solution lol. Thanks for your comment!
