Kiwi Jam

This kiwi jam is ideal for give output to those who remain more mature in the fruit bowl or for when the season arrives and they give you kilos and kilos.

The truth is that with Thermomix all jams are fantastic it does not matter if they are made with fruits or vegetables.

Had ever done Strawberry jam according to Silvia's recipe, but I hadn't dared with other flavors. So I had a tray of kiwis a little overdone in the fridge and I have taken advantage of them to make this jam that is very rich.

There are few things so pleasant that have breakfast with freshly toasted bread with butter and jam and good coffee. It is a moment that I enjoy very much, especially on the weekends.

Does kiwi jam thicken enough when cooled?

    Salu2

    1.    Silvia said

Vega, I made it the other day and mine came out quite thick, but with the strawberry one it was a little runny at first and I opted to add a couple of sheets of neutral gelatin, which do not give flavor but take on a better body and it came out delicious.

    2.    Elena said

Hi Vega, it does get a bit thick when it cools down. It is thicker if you leave it with the seeds and do not strain it, but we like it without the seeds and that is why it is a little lighter, but perfect for spreading.

Hello, I would like to know if this jam can be made with some other sweetener than sugar because I am on a diet and how much would they have to add.

  4.   Elena said

Thank you very much Chelo. Next time I'll try how you do it.

  5.   Silvia said

Manuela, I made it the other day with natren sweetener, I added three glasses of the thermomix and it was very tasty.
And for the amount of Kiwis I took about 8. Try to see how it is.

  6.   Silvia said

I almost always use sweetener, as I have a sweet tooth I like the measure brand, but if I can't find it, I buy natren. It is not that sweet and I need to add almost double more to sweeten.
I don't know if it's any use to you, but that's my experience with sweeteners.

  7.   Manuela said

Thank you very much, I am sure I will try it

    1.    Elena said

You will tell me how it turns out. All the best.

Hello, happy new year to all of you, could you tell me the recipe for the forest fruit jam and the peach jam, because it is another type of fruit, I do not know if the quantities will be the same, and if you can make fruits of the forest, they are that they sell frozen, thankssss

    1.    Elena said

Hello Mariangeles, look at the apricot jam recipe because the peach jam is the same and the forest fruit jam is the same as the strawberry jam. Through the index of recipes you will find them. I have never used the always fresh frozen ones. The frozen ones release more water. Greetings and Happy 2011!

Hi! I've been looking at the recipes on your blog for a while… I've tried the recipes for the jelly beans, the clouds and the wonder cake… They have all turned out very well and very good! Thanks! Now I want to try the caramelised onion and kiwi jam… see how they come out! All the best!

Hello, there is no way to remove the seeds by grinding in the machine? I ask you to save the step of straining, I'm getting lazier and lazier jheeehe thanks girls.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Ana, I think there is no other way. The machine does not crush them. All the best.

    2.    Silvia said

Ana, I'm afraid not, although I haven't tried it thoroughly. Crush it at maximum speed and taste.

  11.   CRISTINA SANCHEZ GARRIDO said

Hello, yesterday I made the strawberry jam and it was delicious, how long does it last in the fridge without spoiling, is there any way to keep it longer? Thank you very much and best regards, you are great

    1.    Elena said

Hello Cristina, it does not last long for me because we eat it right away since we love to have bread with butter and jam for breakfast, but once it is opened it lasts about a month in the refrigerator. If you want to keep it unopened for a longer time, as you take it out of the glass into the jar, close it while hot and turn it over. You leave it like that from one day to the next and you can already store it in the pantry and it will last for three to four months perfectly. All the best.

    2.    Silvia said

In the fridge once opened, I don't usually have it more than four weeks, because before we spend it and packed in a cool place it lasts a few months.

  12.   Cristina said

HEH, Elena, I'm only writing to you because I have some kiwis in the fridge and I'm going to make this jam. I am amused by the fact that on the weekend we are more relaxed and we have time to have breakfast as God intended. I also do the same as you: I love toast with jam just like my daughter and my husband. Kisses and thank you very much for the recipe. LET'S DO IT!

    1.    Elena said

Hello Cristina, I hope you like it. I am looking forward to tomorrow to have a quiet breakfast. It is the food that I like the most of the day, but for tomorrow I just made a quesada pasiega that as soon as it cools down, I will taste it. All the best.

Hello girls, I really love jam for breakfast and I never decided to try it with the robot, I always bought it. Yesterday I ran out of the last one I had bought and I had some kiwis in the fridge and I got down to work. Everything I read is true, it comes out great and I don't think I will buy again anymore. You can also use any fruit and it is Very easy and comfortable to do. A greeting.

    1.    Elena said

      I'm very happy, Nuria!

Hello, how delicious the kiwi jam is, I want to make it but I don't understand without a cup and the basket upside down. Can you explain it to me?

    1.    Elena said

Hello Marini, for it to evaporate better you have to remove the cup, but since it splashes I put the cetille upside down to prevent the jam from popping out and staining. All the best.

      1.    marini said

ahhhh, I did not understand it since I am still a little rookie with the machine, thank you very much and I love your blog congratulations

  17.   Pokhara said

    Hi!
I made the jam this morning using some kiwis and I liked it a lot, although I wanted to strain it through the seeds and seeing that it was too liquid, I left them. Now that it has cooled it is thick and very rich, I will repeat it, although for my taste too sweet, again I add less sugar.
    Thank you for the recipe.

    Kisses

    1.    Irene Thermorecetas said

Hello Pokhara, next time take advantage of the fact that it is liquid because it is hot and strain it to remove the seeds, because later when it cools it will thicken quite a bit. And the sugar thing, it has an easy solution, as you say to miss it next time… thank you for your comment!

    Hi Mary,
What a good idea!. A very rich jam with fewer calories, have you added gelatin? You will tell us if you like the result. A kiss!

  19.   I sweep said

Since kiwi jam can be thickened, I made it and it came out very liquid. Thank you so much

    1.    Alex said

Hello, to thicken the jam you could try using special sugar for jams (which has pectin and citric acid), or, transfer the jam to a saucepan, and boil a few minutes. The same thing happened to us with the strawberry jam.
