Mayonnaise soup with potato omelette

Good good good! I am very happy. It came out the first time! What do you think of the name? ¿Mayonnaise Soup with Potato Omelette? Want a great way to spend your Spanish potato omlette? This is your recipe.

I have an incredible love for this recipe because my mother made it for me when I was little and it has passed generation after generation in her family. Of course, my mother, my grandmother, my great-grandmother made it in the most traditional way possible, the mayonnaise by hand! (no mixers). In a deep plate they mixed an egg yolk with oil very little by little, until it blended and became mayonnaise. Maybe they were 30 minutes making the mix.

So I was thinking about how I could adapt this recipe to our wonderful Thermomix. She was convinced that it could be done and that it would work out well. And so it has been… the result has been magnificent! So we can continue to keep this little-known dish, but adapted to modern times.

You can not imagine the illusion that your recipe has made me! My mother made it too, but I never learned it, and unfortunately she is no longer there to ask him. I only had the memory of the flavor, without really knowing the steps to follow. I thank you with all my heart that you have recovered it. A kiss!!

Well, you can't imagine the illusion that someone knows about this recipe. When I bring it to work they look at me like I'm a weirdo ... "Soup of what?" "But what the hell are you eating today?" ... Where was your mother Esperanza from? And did he do it that way more or less? When my mother makes it in the traditional way, you can throw it away by mixing the egg yolk with the oil for about 30 minutes in a deep dish ... You'll tell me how you're doing !!

This soup is typical of Malaga, it is called gazpachuelo and you can find it in any recipe book in the province. They make it in the thermomix delegation here.
Also typical of Malaga are the garlic soup, almond soup, the perotas soup, the cachorreña soup and the vineyard AB soup.

I also make mayonnaise soup, but with some variations, and they also look at me strange when I say the name. My mother made it by hand and she never finished making it because we would put a bun to dip in the mayonnaise, and the poor thing already gave us a piece and that's it ...
This winter I want to start doing it again ...
    A abrazo.

I can imagine your companions missed !! It is a little known dish, really, but very original, cheap and delicious. My mother was from Seville, but her family from Huelva, I no longer know from what part the recipe came from inheritance. When I have done mine they will also be surprised, but we must not lose these ancient recipes !!

But what a joy that you know this recipe. From what I see it is very local and always from Andalusia. You will tell me if you like it and if it looks like the one they did in your homes. thanks for your comments!

My mother, who is also from Granada, also makes mayonnaise soup. She called it "piringulicos soup" because it has whitefish on top and I think it also has onion and hake. See if I ask you for the recipe soon.
