It had been a long time since I prepared tender wheat And, the truth is, I don't know why it was because we like it at home and it gives us a lot of play. It is easy to cook and can be used like rice. With the same advantage that it can be done for preparations in cold or hot.

The tender wheat with poached vegetables is a very simple recipe and, thanks to its ingredients, it is totally suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It is also ideal to take to the work because it is easy to transport.

I have used the recipe as a starter but if you want to turn it into a Sole plate You just have to add a few cubes of bacon or tofu. I assure you that you will have enough energy to get to the snack without pecking anything at all.

Ingredients

  • 130 g of wheat
  • 75 g leek
  • 60 g canned mushrooms
  • 40 g carrot
  • 20 g olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Put water up to the second mark and a generous pinch of salt in the glass. Heat for 5 minutes, 100º, speed 1. After time, put the basket with the wheat, inside the glass. Program 9 minutes, 100º, speed 4. From time to time, insert the spatula through the mouth to remove the wheat that is cooking. While washing and chopping the vegetables: the leek into thin rings, the carrot into small squares and the mushrooms into quarters.

  2. At the end of the time, remove the basket with the notch on the spatula. Drain and reserve.

  3. Remove the water from the glass, reserving about 100 ml for the preparation.

  4. Put the leek rings in the glass, add the oil and fry it during 8 minutes, 100º, speed 1, left turn. Add the rest of the vegetables and continue for 5 minutes, 100º, speed 1, left turn.

  5. Add 80 g of the wheat cooking water, season and re-program 5 minutes, 100º, speed 1, left turn.

  6. Put the reserved wheat in a flat dish and pour the broth with the vegetables on top. Finish by decorating some parsley leaves and a little chopped chives.

      Young wheat is easy to find in large supermarkets. It is usually close to the rice.

      It is very easy to cook it and it goes very well with everything!
