Egg flan

This egg custard is made like my mother made it, but adapted to the Thermomix®. It is very easy to make and requires few and simple ingredients.

Although I make the flan in the Thermomix®, I continue to put it in the oven because I already have the dot to my old oven although do it in the varoma es just as simple and cheaper.

Accompanied by a little whipped cream it is an excellent dessert, which hardly requires time.

Liquid candy

To make this recipe you can use any of these 4 options:

  • With Thermomix®, which is a Recipe as surprising as it is easy.
  • With Thermomix® and without sugar. As easy as the previous recipe but healthier.
  • In a traditional way, heating sugar with a few drops of water until it becomes caramel.
  • Buy it already done.

Now you decide !! 😉

Hello, in what position do I put the tray and heat down, or also up I put turbo ????????? There are many questions but I do not like to stay with any doubt.

    1.    Elena said

Hi Silvia, I put the tray in the middle, with heat up and down. My oven is very old and does not have the option to turbo or put air. It is very simple but it works perfectly for me. All the best.

Hello girls, I made the flan and it turned out to be luxurious, thanks for having these wonderful recipes, the only thing was the time I had it to have it in the oven for almost an hour because it did not curdle.

    1.    Silvia said

Toñi, I always make it in the varoma, it comes out very tasty and in about 40 or 45 minutes it is ready. Try next time to see how it works out for you.

Could you tell me how I can make a flan only with milk, sugar and a potax envelope.
Thank you very much for your recipes.

Mix 10 sec., At speed. 3 and program 8 minutes, temp. varoma and vel. 2. Add the milk mixture and flan envelope that we have in the cup and set 2 min., Temp. varoma and vel. 2. In the flan molds we add a little liquid caramel and this mixture on top. Let cool and ready.

Today I made the flan and it was delicious.
When I did it with the pot all the time I had to be stirring the mixture so that it did not stick. With the thermo I have been super good, I have not had to stir anything.
    Thank you very much.

    1.    Elena said

I'm glad, María Antonia. The flan is very rich and the truth is that with the Thermomix it is very easy to make. All the best.

What measure is the small pot of condensed milk because I have the large pot and the measure of milk at home? Thank you…………….

    1.    Silvia said

The small bottle of condensed milk has 370 grams and the measure of the milk is just double 740 grams.
I hope you get it right. All the best

'Thank you another question that I wanted to ask you where you buy the flan mold so that it fits in the varoma container I do not know if yours is the same I have the thermo mix 21 thank you

    1.    sandra said

Sorry I had thought that it was put in the varoma container and it is not like that, it is baked. But also, in the book it appears that it can be done in the varoma container. How about? Thank you and excuse me again. See you soon.

      1.    Elena said

Sandra, the varoma also looks perfect, but you have to use these types of molds because there will be no room for others. If you have another mold that won't fit, bake it. All the best.

    2.    Elena said

Hi Sandra, if I do it in the varoma I use the 1 l rectangular aluminum molds. capacity and come with a cardboard lid. I buy them at Mercadona or those from the Albal brand. If I use a mold that does not fit in the varoma, I do it in a bain-marie in the oven. All the best.

  9.   ellen said

Hello to tod@s! I would like to know how to do the varoma and another platitude question, but when you put the water in the oven tray for the bain-marie, it is already hot? I mean if you wait for it to boil to put it.
Another question is to know if you know any recipe for pate de foie or fine herbs. Thank you.

    1.    Elena said

Hello Elena, I put the hot water from the tap and put the flan, I don't wait for the water to boil. And to do it in the varoma, look at the recipe for "Orange Flan" that we put in it how it is made in varoma.
I don't have any recipe for these patés, but I do want to locate it to make them and be able to publish it. I hope it's soon. Greetings and thank you very much for seeing us.

Hello, I have made the recipe for the egg flan from the essential book but instead of flan I have a spongy thing that seems scrambled !!!, I made it with individual molds in the varoma and covered it with aluminum foil and then I put some napkin Of paper on top, but a good part of the flan came out, I'll try again but I don't know what I've done wrong, congratulations on this fantastic blog

    1.    Elena said

Hi Carmen104, try this flan recipe, you'll see how you like it. All the best.

Hello Ayalgastur, I'm glad you liked the flan. To make chocolate flan, look at the recipe for "White chocolate and milk chocolate flan", it is delicious. We also have published the recipe for the chocolate flan with lactose. I hope you like them. All the best.

One question to this akt you mean 2 measures (of the condensed milk bottle) of whole milk, a greeting

    1.    Elena said

Hello Jubilo89, once we empty the bottle of condensed milk into the glass, we use it to measure the whole milk, we fill that bottle of milk with milk and we add it to the glass and then we fill it again and pour it into the glass (2 boat measures). All the best.

Hello Rosa, it is not necessary. All the best.

Hello girls! I discovered your page this week and I am delighted with the recipes. I made the egg custard and instead of adding whole milk I put evaporated milk in it and it was very creamy. We liked it a lot. CONGRATULATIONS on your page, the comments you make at the beginning are a good guide to when we can make the recipes with family and friends. The recipes are very well explained and detailed, all very clear and very easy. I send you a very strong hug full of positive energy.

Thank you very much, Mila! I am very happy that you like our blog. All the best.

Hello, I like your recipes, the flan is very good but I was there for an hour I would like you to tell me if it can be served in the pot, I express a greeting,

    1.    Elena said

Hi Mario, the truth is that I don't know because I always do it in the oven or in the varoma. Anyway, it usually takes 20-30 minutes to do it, not an hour as you tell me. All the best.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW IT CAN BE SET IN THE MACHINE WITHOUT THE NEED TO TAKE IT IN THE OVEN OR IN THE VAROMA. I HAVE DONE IT BEFORE BUT I DON'T REMEMBER / IT COULD BE 30 MINUTES AT 90º AND SPOON SPEED / I HOPE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO THANK ME

    1.    Elena said
