ALMOND CAKE

Thermomix recipe Tarta de Santiago

This Santiago cake comes out very rich in the Thermomix®. I recommend it for the few ingredients it contains and how fast it is done.

I remembered her one day when some friends called us while we were eating. In a couple of hours they came to have coffee and since they already knew my famous orange cake, it occurred to me to surprise them with this delicious cake.

Also had success with the children, as my eldest daughter repeated twice and the little piece that was left was eaten for breakfast with a little homemade colacao.

There are those who make this recipe with flour, but I prefer without it and so the celiacs.

    Hi friends

One question, can the powdered sugar be made in the thermomix? And if you could, how much would we put? It is that where I live I have been looking for it and I have not found it.

    Thank you very much

    regards

Hello Elena. The icing sugar is made by putting the same amount of normal sugar in the glass, which is stated in the recipe and programming 15 seconds, at progressive speed 5-7-10.
It is very easy and fast to do. All the best.

    Hello there!
Today I am going to start making this cake because it looks great but I have a question (for this and all cakes and biscuits): if I use a silicone mold, do I also have to grease it?

Thank you very much for your recipes and for answering our questions!

    1. Silvia said

With silicone molds it is not necessary to grease them more than the first time.

    Hello girls:
this cake, FANTASTIC, like all the ones I have made yours. We ate this cake some time ago at a friend's house, and my niece loved it, I made it for her with a recipe with more ingredients, including flour. It was good. This year he asked me for it for his birthday, and I did this one, which is simpler. And frankly, it far exceeds my friend's and the one I did. They all loved it. LOVELY. Thank you very much for your recipes !!!!. The next one is the Portuguese cream, which looks great

Hello girls: every time I make the Santiago cake when unmolding it sticks, what can I do? Thank you

    1. Silvia said

Put vegetable paper on the base and then it is easy to unmold by pulling the paper up, or if not, do it in a mold removable.

    Hello Silvia
When I make the Santiago cake, I separate the whites from the yolks and put the whites to the point of snow, if you do, you will see that the cake is fluffier and if you add a glass of virgin malaga it has a different flavor. which is from Santiago de Compostela.

Thank you very much Maria for that little secret. I have to try it !! All the best

Hello !!! to everyone and Merry Christmas. I have made this cake, it is very simple and fast. Icing sugar can be made in the thermomix, which, in my opinion, is one of the smartest machines on the market today. It is expensive, but if you take advantage of it, you will amortize it right away. It is a luxury to cook with it, it forces you to think, innovate and reinvent yourself, which keeps you active and alive, it is very important. I am going to repeat this cake, because everyone liked it and it is very healthy.

Well, I've done it twice and both have gone wrong. The first time I left it in the oven for 20 minutes and it was raw in the center. The second time I left it longer (it was already starting to toast on top) and I also had the raw egg on the base. I don't know what can go wrong.
