Tomato and ham flans

If you like simple recipes, you will love these tomato and ham flans for their simplicity. And they are so easy to make which are ideal for those of you who are premiering your Thermomix.

You only need a few few ingredients and the result is so smooth that it combines perfectly with light dishes such as salads, cooked asparagus or any grilled vegetables.

You can also use the tomato sauce that you like the most. Ideal to give way to those preserves that we all have in the pantry, especially if you are one of those who prepares them at home.

Do you want to know more about these tomato and ham flans?

As I said before, you can use the ketchup that you like the most. I prefer to use the homemade ones and, in this case, I have used the spicy tomato sauce to give you a little bit of joy.

Another thing you can change is the ham. You may substitute for bacon, ham or even a few pieces of cooked chicken, turkey or fish.

These cupcakes also look great as a garnish to accompany the fish grilled or steamed. In this case what I do is do without the ham.

To make this recipe I have used a rigid mold of muffins or cupcakes. And I have lined the holes with some silicone cups although you can use the paper or make them with baking paper. Another option is to grease the rigid mold well and make them directly without using saucepans.

You can also do a single flan larger. In that case, use a not very wide mold, I think that with a 1/2 liter capacity you will have enough. The preparation process would be the same but you will have to increase the baking time a bit.

This recipe is gluten free and it is also suitable for lactose intolerant but you will have to verify that the ham is suitable because not all brands are free of these allergens.

Tomato and ham flans can be eaten freshly made, warm or even cold especially now that it is still hot and very hot foods do not appeal to us.

May do in advance and they last a couple of days in the fridge.
