Bloody mice for Halloween

Who would have thought that some bloody mice could make the perfect dinner for the Halloween's night? This is how spectacular this party is, where nothing is what it seems and even the things that cause us the most horror become delicious recipes.

One feels calmer knowing that, behind the name of the recipe, all there are are some meatballs with tomato sauce and mashed potato. All done in a homemade and natural way so that our children eat well while they enjoy themselves.

It is clear that you can make mice with your best meatball recipe. I, this time, needed a gluten free recipe, so I replaced the bread crumbs for a little rice. This is how I have obtained compact meatballs suitable for celiacs.

To decorate the mice I have used peppercorns. But if your children are younger you can replace them with black olives or ketchup. Another detail that makes them very authentic are the whiskers and the tail, for which I have used cooked spaghetti for the tails and raw for the whiskers, which are easier to place. Pay attention to the type of pasta if there are intolerant at the table.

Although they give a little work, I encourage you to prepare these bloody mice because, in addition to being rich, they will be unforgettable.

Bloodstained mice make a perfect Halloween dish. They're nothing more than homemade gluten-free meatballs with tomato sauce that kids will love.

Ingredients

• 500 g of minced meat (beef and pork)
• 30g basmati rice
• 70 g onion
• 1 egg
• 1 Carrot
• Cooked and raw spaghetti
• Peppercorns or olives or ketchup
• Salt and pepper
• Mashed potatoes
• Ketchup

Preparation

1. Put the basmati rice in the glass. Program 3 seconds, speed 5. Remove and reserve.

2. Peel the onion and chop it during 5 seconds at speed 5. Add the meat, rice and egg. Season and mix during 15 seconds at speed 3. Remove the dough to a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.

3. After the rest time, form 14 balls or small dumplings that will be the head of the mice. Next to form the body we will use another 14 larger ones that we will shape as a drop of water. Place a small ball on the narrow side of the large ball, trying to make them as close together as possible.

4. Place the mice in the Varoma, close it and reserve. Fill the glass with 1 liter of water and program 30 minutes, Varoma temperature, speed 2. You can take advantage of the glass to make tomato sauce, mashed potatoes or any other preparation.

5. At the end of the time, place two thin carrot slices as ears and arrange the eyes, whiskers and nose with the chosen ingredients.

6. When serving, spread the mashed potato on the surface of the plate, place 2 or 3 mice and cover the body with tomato sauce.
