The stews in thermomix come out phenomenal. So we have prepared for today some squid in tomato sauce and rum that they are in scandal !! Come out tender, honeyed and juicy A delight! I take the opportunity to leave them made in advance, so that the sauce takes more flavor. And, of course, you can freeze them and so you will have them ready for any day.

We have accompanied them with a plain white rice, cooked in the basket. It is white rice as a garnish, which you can take advantage of to cook more quantity and then prepare a rice salad like this rice salad with natural totame, lime and mint, perfect for this summer.

Delicious squid in tomato and rum sauce, juicy and tasty. Ideal as a main dish to accompany with rice.

Ingredients

300 g onion
2 cloves of garlic
50 g olive oil
200 g of tomato paste
800 g squid
100 g of rum (can be substituted for wine)
100 g of water
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar (can be white too)
Parsley (optional)

Preparation

We peel the onions and cut them into quarters. We also peel the garlic. We put the onions, garlic and oil in the glass. We bite during 4 seconds at speed 5.
We program 10 minutes, temperature 120º, speed 1.
Next, we add the crushed tomato, a pinch of salt and the sugar and we prolong the cooking for others 10 minutes, temperature 100º, speed 1. At the end we grind for 5 seconds, speed 5.
We lower the sauce towards the blades and add the washed and chopped squid. We fry for 5 minutes, temperature 120º, turn to the left, spoon speed.
We add the rum, water and program 30 minutes, temperature 100º, turn to the left, spoon speed.
At the end of the time we check the cooking. If the sauce is very watery, add a tablespoon of cornstarch thinned out in a little water, add salt and pepper and continue cooking for another [b] 5 minutes, Varoma temperature, turn to the left, spoon speed
We finish by checking that the squid are tender. Serve and sprinkle a little chopped parsley (optional) and serve with cooked white rice.
