Sweet oat milk

sweet-oat-milkthermorecetas

Sweet oat milk is a vegetable drink that I love. It has a very nice light golden color and a spectacular flavor.

You already know that the oat milk It is a bit tasteless, so to sweeten this drink I have used Medjool dates. It is a variety that is characterized by its sweetness and its large size. They are perfect for this recipe.

This milk or vegetable drink does not produce much okara. Although there are usually remains of the oat flakes and small pieces of dates. They can be perfectly added to your muesli or to any cookie dough, cake or muffins. Any solution is good for not throwing food.

It is normal for homemade vegetable drinks to form a sediment at the bottom of the bottle when they are at rest, so it is recommended to shake well before each use. This is how you get the better texture and flavor.

Sweet oat milk is perfect for those who follow a lactose-free diet, have an intolerance to milk protein, or are simply on a vegan or vegetarian diet. What's more it does not contain sugar, agave syrup or any other type of sweetener, only natural products.

    Why are the flakes dripping?
Wouldn't it be better to also add that rest water where there will be more flavor and perhaps vitamins / properties of the oats?

      Hello Ana:

They drain because the water is useless. It is like the water from soaking legumes that is also not used except for watering the plants. Eye! not to be confused with the vegetable cooking water that it does contain vitamins and minerals !!

I'll tell you ... really, oats are soaked to make it easier for enzymes, lactobacilli and other components that break down and neutralize phytic acid to activate and act. This acid can adhere to calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, and zinc in the intestinal tract and block their absorption.

Obviously the water is discarded because it contains this acid in addition to other impurities.

      Hope this answer helps you.

      Regards!!

Mayra, you say Medjool dates, but it is the same that they are in another way, or of another name, in that they are dates ... I say, I don't know.

Yes Núria, any type of date is valid but Medjools are sweeter than the rest.
