Carrot bisque

This carrot bisque has such a beautiful color that it enters the eyes. Although they will be its flavor and textures which will convince you. 

This recipe combine two textures; on the one hand, a soft cream and, on the other, some smooth carrot slices that are ideal to break the boredom of crushed creams.

In its flavor the sweet carrot notes with the aromatic touch of the herbs forming a first dish that will delight young and old alike.

First of all, I have to clarify that the original bisque It is a velouté, creamy and highly seasoned soup of French origin, classically made from shellfish.

This recipe It does not take anything neither fish nor shellfish but we have called it bisque because they share many characteristics:

The first is undoubtedly his orange color. In our it is easily obtained because carrots contain carotenoids which, as you already know, are precursors of vitamin A.

The second is its texture. The classic bisque is so velvety like our carrot cream and it is also usually combined with another more solid texture, in this case with the carrot slices that your children will love.

And the last characteristic they share is the use of seasonings. For this recipe we have used fine herbs and marjoram but you can substitute it for oregano, chopped parsley, chives or any other.

Needless to say, this bisque or carrot cream has sweet notess. So make sure to give it the exact amount of salt so it doesn't get confused with a dessert.

For this recipe you can use a homemade broth o replace it with water with a tablespoon (dessert size) of homemade broth concentrate.

Keeps well in the fridge up to 5 days provided that its cold chain is not broken and that it is well refrigerated in an airtight container according to its volume.

As well can be frozen And, when heating, you just have to stir well so that the solid part mixes with the liquid and becomes, again, a great cream.
