Apple jam with cinnamon

Thermomix recipe apple jam with cinnamon

Every day I like to prepare more jam with Thermomix. It is very simple and thanks to it I am beginning to try a great variety of flavors that I could not even imagine.

This morning at breakfast I saw that we were a little poor on jam, we only had half a jar of orange. I looked at the fruit bowl, what I had the most were apples, So I put hands to work.

I like the apple asada, riding a cakes, riding a compote, riding a biscuits and in almost all of these ways it has a touch of cinnamon that we love. Hence I got the idea for give more flavor to this jam.

The result has been a success. It is delicious and I think it is an ideal jam to put in cakes, in biscuits or simply to accompany a yogurt or curd.

Do you have to store vacuum jams in the fridge? thank you and continue like this

    1.    Silvia said

When you vacuum close it, you can store it in a cool place such as a pantry or a closet for a few months without problem, but once opened it can be kept in the fridge.

The truth is that a couple of months I don't think you have a problem, but at home we always finish it before spending a month or so.

One question, it doesn't matter the type of apple? Is that I have several that we have not liked much to eat and they are getting pochas and I want to make it with those.
Thanks for your recipes, which one is richer.
    A greeting.

  15.   marisa said

I think it has to be great, but if I want to make it a little lighter, can I change the sugar for a sweetener? thank you and cheer up we will win.

    1.    Silvia said

Of course Marisa, any dessert we make can be made with sweetener. This Christmas I prepared a roscón for my diabetic relatives and it was a great success.

  16.   marisa said

I'm sorry if I come back again, it's that I have a doubt when making cookies, you can change the butter for olive oil, as in the biscuits lately I make cookies and I would like to know because they were a little healthier.

I have loved the recipe for the jam but I have made strawberry recently and I don't know whether to make it in case it spoils, how long does it last once opened in the fridge?

  19.   Silvia said

Years ago this happened to me but now whenever I make jam I prepare the jars in which I am going to put the jam. I put water in them up to the top and put them in the microwave, heating them until the water boils a little, then I take them out and throw the water by letting it fall on the lids that will close the jar, this is how I sterilize the jars and immediately add the jam, when it is a little warm, I put a square of greaseproof paper on it, close it and leave it upside down for 24 hours making the vacuum and with this ritual it does not spoil me. Hope this can help you.

    1.    Alice said

      Thanks, I'll try it.

  20.   Malta said

Hi! What a good idea apple jam, I have never tried it, but I'm going to cheer up!
Have you ever tried stevia as a sweetener?
    Gracies !!!

    1.    Silvia said

The truth is that I do not know that sweetener. I usually use granular measure and it works out fine.

  21.   Mari Carmen said

Yesterday I made it, and I don't even tell you how rich it turned out, I added 700 of apples to 400 of sugar and then I had it at varoma temperature for 10 minutes, so that it would be a bit thick, I don't like them very liquid, more than anything because my son is all over the place.
    Thanks and Regards.

    1.    Silvia said

You're right, I also like something thicker and lately I've been lengthening the minutes of all of them, especially the strawberry one.

      1.    Mari Carmen said

Yesterday I made strawberry and instead of adding lemon to pieces without the white skin, which is what the book tells me, I have added lemon juice, I suppose it will come out just as well, it is a mess to be peeling the lemon and removing seeds.
I also put more than 10 minutes in varoma temperature instead of 100º so that it thickens, I hope it turned out good.

        1.    Silvia said

Mari Carmen, lately I put a spoonful of lemon on the strawberry one and the varoma temperature for 35 minutes and it looks really good.

  22.   Pink said

Good no, the jam is very good,
but I wanted to comment on the great book of apples, you have a spoon of speed 40g sugar (: thank you continue like this

    1.    Silvia said

Thank you, I just mentioned it to Rosa, but they no longer know if they could change it, it was a misprint. Well I think that almost everyone who has ever made jam knows that we need almost the same amount of fruit as we need sugar.
      All the best

  23.   Rosa Arda said

Rosa and Silvia. It is fixed. You can download the book again, there is no mistake.
    Kisses

    3.    Silvia said

Thank you so much for this super job you have done.
      A kiss

  24.   Marien said

I have loved this jam! I made it very thick and with a touch of cinnamon ... unbeatable for my breakfasts. I also made the «light» version, you know ... you have to take care, and since this morning I already have the strawberry light version ready, but I agree with Silvia, you have to leave it for a few more minutes, a little thicker is much more nice. Thank you girls !, a kiss.

    1.    Silvia said

Marién, how much sweetener have you added?

  25.   Silvia said

I have made the light strawberry jam with moderate sweetener. For 500 grams of strawberries I have added 100 grams of measure, but it has been very sweet, next time I will try only half and I'll tell you about it.

  26.   Sara said

Hello! Tell me how much sweetener you have finally added because I want to make it for my mother who does not take sugar and I have no idea of the measurements. I have the thermomix for two weeks so I need it all chewed or I get lost hehe. Thanks"

    1.    Silvia said

Sara, when I make jam with sweetener I use powdered sweetener and with 60 gr for 600 or 500 gr of fruit is enough, although sometimes it remains somewhat liquid because the sweetener does not thicken like sugar and I put it in about 5 more minutes of cooking with jam.

  27.   Sara said

Thank you very much for answering. Well, I made the apple jam with cinnamon, but with sugar and they have aired it in 4 days. I did what mari carmen said to leave it a little longer to thicken and according to what they told me if it was thick, (my father liked it because he says that when he dips the toast it does not fall).
Tomorrow I want to make cherry jam, they have given me two boxes and I don't know what to do with them. Have you ever done it?

    1.    Silvia said

I have never made cherry jam. How do you look? what patience to peel the bones !!

      1.    Sara said

It turned out great, a laborious job but it tasted great, a mix between strawberry and grape. I also made the grape one another day and the same, delicious. Today I am doing peach. A big kiss

  28.   ANNA 5 said

Hello girls, they also gave me a Sara box and I made jam, it was really good, to remove the bones I put them in the thermo 4 s speed 4 and they remove perfectly, then you have work separating it but less than removing one by one if you do not have the device that removes them. See if something helps you.

  29.   Ana Beatriz said

Simply spectacular!!! I have loved it and since I have many apples, tomorrow I get to work and do more

    Hello there!

This Christmas I am going to give a little basket to my relatives with homemade products and something original. As this jam you will not find it in the supermarket, it will fall for sure

I ask you a couple of questions ...
1.-How much is the boat in which you keep it?
2.-to vacuum pack it: does the square of vegetable paper touch the jam?
3.-closing it and leaving it upside down for 24 hours makes the vacuum and it is not necessary to dull it in the bain-marie? (It is also done this way with other preserves such as pisto? Is that it would greatly lighten the work)

    thank you

  32.   ascenjimenez said

    Hi Asun,
If you want it to be less thick, let it cook for a few minutes less. You can open the Thermomix from time to time to see if you like the thickness of the jam and stop the machine when you see fit.
    Kisses!

    1.    Asun said

Thank you very much for the advice Ascen !! After 2 months I have repeated it with a few minutes less and now I have embroidered it. It's yummy, I don't think it will last the week ... we already use homemade jams for everything ...

      1.    ascenjimenez said

I'm glad you turned out so good, Asun. It is difficult for things to go the first time but there is nothing like keeping trying.
Thank you very much for trusting us.
